This week we are retelling the story of Hiawatha and the Peacemaker, specifically including direct speech in our narrative and using reporting clauses to add more descriptive detail. Next week, the children will do a ‘hot task’ on the same theme followed by self and peer assessment lessons where they will consider what they need to focus on for the summer term.
We will be looking at the events of Holy Week and understanding the sacrament of reconciliation.
We will finish our work on area before moving on to fractions.
This week we have focussed on the skill of summarising and commenting on the writer’s use of interesting sentence types. Next week, we will focus on the skill of explaining how the writer’s sentence construction enhances the meaning.
We will continue our circuits learning by looking at the role of switches in circuits.
We will complete the final story sessions for Jesus, My Friend. This is the parable of the Prodigal Son which explores the theme of God’s family, making the right choices and forgiveness.
