Year 4 Weekly Update – 12/03/21

Dear Parents and Carers,

How wonderful it’s been to see all the children again! Hopefully this is now the beginning of a gradual unlocking back to normal life for us all.

We will return to sending spellings out on a Tuesday to be tested in class on the following Tuesday.

Times tables

Please continue to practise all times tables.

Our work for next week will be as follows:

Literacy

Continuing our Road Trip USA work, we will be learning how to correctly write direct speech for a narrative. We will be looking at the story Hiawatha and the Peacemaker by Robbie Robertson.

Maths

We will be completing our multiplication and division unit of work. Focusing on dividing 2 and 3-digit numbers by 1-digit.

Science

We will be learning about electrical circuits, what makes a circuit complete and making predictions about whether a circuit is complete.

RE

We will begin our topic “Jesus, the Saviour” and will be looking at how Jesus is both God and truly human.

Geography

We will be looking at the physical features of the USA.

Music

We will be working on rounds.

PSHE / RHE

This week we have been discussing the children’s feelings about being back at school, what they mean and how they can manage these. Next week, we will begin the Story Sessions for Jesus My Friend for RHE.
