Dear parents/carers,
The children were thoroughly engaged as we discussed the importance of Black History Month as we focused on Baroness Lawrence and Stephen Lawrence. We thought carefully about what the words prejudice and discrimination meant and what we can do as individuals to actively stop this.
The learning for next week is:

Maths: Multiplying up to 4 digit by 2 digit numbers.
RE: Reflecting on Jesus’ miracles.
Art: Sketching their own Day of the Dead Mask and using the medium oil pastels.
PSHE: TenTen: Gifts and Talents- Similarities and differences between people arise and by living and working together we create a community. Self confidence arises from being loved by God.
Spellings: -cious/-tious : delicious, precious, ferocious, malicious, suspicious, conscious, vicious, superstitious, fictitious, infectious, ambitious, nutritious, cautious.
Next week, we will be carrying out our first set of SATs practice papers. There will be 6 separate papers:
Monday: Arithmetic, Spellings and Grammar (SPAG)
Tuesday: Reading
Wednesday: Reasoning Paper 1

Your child will be given their scaled scores after half term and we will have the opportunity to discuss with you in more detail at the upcoming parents consultation.
Thank you for your continued support,
Year 6 Team
