The times tables we will be testing next week will be: 6 times tables

Maths
In maths, we will continue our place value learning. We will be partitioning 4-digit numbers, looking at number lines to 10,000 and starting to round to the nearest 1,000.
Literacy
The children will build on their work on adverbials of manner by writing a recount of a gladiator contest (following on from their work on Spartacus this week).
History
We will begin our Black History Month learning. During this week, the children will learn all about Sarah Parker Redmond and how she contributed to the fight against two types of institutional prejudice in being both an abolitionist and a suffragist.
RE
We will begin the story of David in the Old Testament. We will be retelling the story, discussing the messages learned from it and how this links to the other scripture in the Old Testament.
Music
The children will be using their listening skills to identify different orchestral instruments from the woodwind family.
