Year 3 Weekly Update

This week the children have designed their own games using non-contact forces and have begun to look at how instructions are written and to consider how to best explain their game to an audience. In Maths we have started our new topic of length and measure by measuring classroom objects in cm and mm and by looking at how to convert between mm, cm and m. In science we are looking at how objects move on different materials and how to create a fair test. In R.E we have been looking at the last supper and considering the thoughts and feelings of the disciples.

In our spelling lessons we have been looking at irregular past tense verbs. For homework please help your child to learn the following irregular past tense verbs:

caught

bought

threw

brought

drove

ate

thought

knew

Please also help your child to learn the times table they are working on at the moment. To best help them, they should be learning their times tables in this order: 10s, 5s, 2s, 3s, 4s and then finally 8s. Please also make sure to listen to your child read as much as possible and write in their reading record.

Thank you for your support.
