This week in Y3 we have been creating timelines of the key events in Ancient Greece and drawing sketch maps of Ancient Greece. We have also been writing a character description about Zeus, king of the Ancient Greek gods. In Maths we have been looking at how to multiply a 2-digit number by 1 -digit number by using column multiplication. In PSHE we have begun to look at the stories of Kester’s adventures (part of the Ten Ten programme). The children have been learning about how God has handmade all of us and we are all unique and special. In R.E we have started our topic of the Sacrament of Reconciliation by looking at the Great Commandment and what this means and how we can reconcile if we make wrong choices.
In spellings we have been looking at the homophones ‘our, are, there, they’re, their, your and you’re’ and when it is appropriate to use which one. For homework, please help your children to learn not only these spellings but also when to use them. Please also continue to practise your 10,5,2,3,4 and 8 times tables. These are essential for multiplication and division (our current Maths topic) and really do make a difference to your child’s learning. Please also don’t forget to listen to your child read and sign their reading record.
Thank you for your support.
