Happy new year! We hope you have had a wonderful Christmas break! This week in Year 3 we have begun our new topic of Ancient Greece. The children have begun this topic by being’ historical detectives’ and examining various photos and artefacts to find out more about the past. In Maths we are continuing to look at 2-digit by 1 digit multiplication and consolidating our knowledge. In our spelling lessons, we have been looking at the endings ‘gue’ and ‘que’.
Next week for our art lesson, we are hoping to do some papier mache, and would be very grateful of any newspaper you could send in to help us with this by Monday (13th Jan). Please also don’t forget to send in a note to let us know if you are able to help on our school trip before this Thursday, 9th Jan.
For home learning this week, please help your child to learn the following words: everyone, every, each, even, eat, fatigue, vague, antique, unique, picturesque. Please also recap your child’s times tables: the 10, 5, 2, 3, 4 and 8s. Please also don’t forget to listen to your child read and sign their reading book.
Thank you for your support!
