We have had another busy week in year 5. The children have been learning:
- How to write an amusing non-chronological report, full of fun and well-chosen information to hook and engage the reader. They are fantastic!
- To solve problems with area and perimeter
- About the ten commandments and what they mean for us
- To combine materials with precision, in order to make a ‘printing block’ in DT
This week in spellings, the children have been learning how to spell words from the year 5/6 spellings list. The words to learn at home this week are:
- competition
- conscience
- conscious
- controversy
- convenience
- correspond
- critic
- criticise
- curiosity
- definite
Our Christmas Carol concert is on the 18th December, 6.30pm at St Gregory’s Church. Next Friday (13th) at 10.45 and the following Monday (16th – time TBC), years 5 and 6 will be walking up to the church to have two run throughs before the big event. We would really appreciate some help from parents to assist us in travelling there and back safely. If you are available, please contact the class teacher.
Next friday 13th we will also be participating in the Save the Children’s christmas jumper day. We ask for a voluntary donation of £1 for children wearing Christmas jumpers!
We look forward to seeing many of you at the Christmas fayre tomorrow! Enjoy your weekends.
