This week in our literacy we have been writing our adventure stories using lots of descriptive writing. In Maths we are continuing our topic of multiplication and division. In R.E we will be learning about Advent. In our spellings this week we have been looking at the prefixes ‘mis’ and ‘re’ and how these change words. For home learning this week, please help your child to revise the following high frequency words:
boy, can’t, better, birds and clothes.
They should also learn the new words which follow our spelling pattern: reappear, redo, return, mistake and mishear.
If your child is a very confident speller, please help them to also learn: reapply, misbehave, rebuild and miscalculate.
Please also continue to practise the 8 times table and to listen to your child read.
Due to all of our nativity practices and performances next week, we won’t test on these spellings until Monday 9th December. We hope you can make it to one of our nativity performances next week! Our dress rehearsal to the school will be on Tuesday and we will perform to parents on Wednesday and Thursday. If you haven’t yet sent in your child’s nativity outfit, please make sure to do so by Monday 2nd December.
Many thanks,
Mrs. Whyatt and Miss Taylor
