Maths Mastery: Place Value, Addition and Subtraction
During the sequence of lessons this week, the children will revisit what they have been previously taught about place value, addition and subtraction.
There will be a carousel of activities using concrete resources to allow the children to deepen their understanding of place value, addition and subtraction.
We will also be focusing on mastery skills: problem solving and reasoning. The children will practice their problem solving and reasoning skills through a range of problem solving questions whereby the children will be exposed to the fact that some questions may have several different answers and will spend time articulating their answers in full sentences to show their greater understanding.
RE: We were learning to recognise saints – This week we reflected on the work of St Catherine and St Andrew, the children completed profiles to reflect on the importance of different saints.
