Our Learning
This week starts our new science focused topic of Potions!
Literacy
Starting with Alice in Wonderland drinking the mysterious bottle labeled ‘drink me’, we will be writing instructional labels for our own magical potions using imperative verbs and formal language.
Maths
This week we will consolidate rounding by rounding to 1000 and look at ordering and comparing 4 digit numbers.
Science
Comparing different states of matter, we will define the properties of solids liquids and gases. Then we will model through role play how particles act differently in these states and test the viscosity of different liquids with a wacky races experiment.
RE
We will start our new area of learning looking at trust in God. Children will write a poem exploring what trust is and what it isn’t.
Christmas Play
You will have the dates for our Christmas Play already from the school calendar. Please monitor your emails and children’s book bags for updates on scripts, song words and costumes over the next two weeks. Your help will be greatly appreciated in learning lines and song words at home and also helping to create any costumes (with no expectation of buying them).
Mr Bell is still really keen for any parent volunteers to join in on:
drum kit
Bass
rhythm guitar (chords)
Let us know if you play these instruments and could be free.
