RE: This week, we have been reading the account of Peter’s arrest and miraculous escape from prison after the death of Jesus. We used our lessons to role play the story to recall the key points. We then imagined that we were in the house when Peter arrived home, the children prepared questions to ask Peter about the events they had read about in the bible. Each child was then able to play the part of Peter and respond to a question in the first person.
Maths: During the week, we have been collecting data and presenting our data in a number of ways e.g. tally charts and pictograms. The children looked at a range of pictograms where the symbols represent 2, 5 or 10 items. They paid careful consideration to the picture of symbol that they used so that it could be halved. The children were able to count in twos, fives and tens to complete and draw pictograms. The children were then asked a variety of reasoning and problem solving questions to ensure they were able to interpret the data.
