The much anticipated Barnet schools Athletics competition took place on Tuesday at a scorching Allianz Park. Our colourful 41 man squad representing our assigned country Brazil travelled to the competition raring to go after several intense trails and training sessions in the build up to the games. The squad was made up of many talented track and field athletes from across key stage 2 and our field athletes from Year 5 & 6 kicked-off the competition in great fashion. We were consistently pacing in a range of field events such as long jump, javelin, ball throw and speed bounce leaving us in a great position going into the track events in the afternoon.
After a colourful parade where all the schools circled the Allianz Park track all representing their assigned coun-tries, our Year 3s got us off to a great start throughout their 60m track events and were suitably followed by our Year 4,5,6 and relay racers throughout the afternoon.
Our great day was capped off with a trophy due to the team’s achievements in the field events and soon after it was announced we had finished 2nd overall closely behind Holly Park.
Well done team!
Mr Reilly
