Children have the option of eating a school meal or bringing in their own packed lunch from home.

The Children and Families Act 2014 places a legal duty on all state-funded schools in England to offer a free school lunch to all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 from September 2014.  Additionally, from September 2023 for one academic year, the Mayor of London’s Free School Meals Programme has funded a free meal for every primary age pupil, so for 23/24 all our children may receive a free meal if they wish.

There is an opportunity to switch between school and packed lunch at the start of every half term.  Please read the newsletter for deadlines to do this.

School Lunches

Our school lunches are cooked on site. Our three weekly menu cycles meets the food and nutrient based standards for Primary School Meals. We’re committed to providing healthy, high-quality meals as a nutritious and tasty lunch is important to our pupils and staff. Please see the ISS brochure about school lunches here.

Packed Lunches

Children need a balanced diet with a good variety of foods to ensure that all their requirements for growth and development are met. Lunches provided by school all meet with nutritional guidelines recommended by the government. For this reason, it seems only fair that we make every attempt to ensure packed lunches meet the same criteria. Click the link below for some great tips on making tasty and healthy children’s packed lunch boxes:
