Welcome to the St.Catherine’s PTA section!
We aim to provide you with information on all the activities the PTA undertakes in support of the school and its pupils, as well as keeping you up-to-date on our latest news, events and fundraising plans.
In addition, we have set out some information below about the PTA, which we hope will give you a better understanding of who it is and how it works.
So what is the PTA?
The PTA is a voluntary organisation and an association of which ALL parents and guardians of children attending St.Catherine’s, as well as its teaching staff, are effectively members. Members are entitled to attend meetings, vote on proposals and make suggestions for spending or raising funds.
The main objective of the Association is, in partnership with the school and parents, to enhance the education and well-being of St.Catherine’s pupils by providing resources and activities for the children as well as augmenting the facilities provided by the Local Authority.
How is this managed?
The General Committee, an elected group of parents and teaching staff, has responsibility for, and supports the administration of, ALL the affairs of the Association.
The committee is structured in a way that provides a framework which can support all the activities undertaken by the PTA – and we are always on the lookout for people to give a helping hand.
